Ronald McDonald House Charities Canada
Ronald McDonald House Charities Canada helps give sick children what they need most – their families.
Since 2011, Impakt has been helping Ronald McDonald House Charities Canada to better understand their social purpose of helping seriously ill children and their families. We have worked with them to develop a thorough and credible understanding of Canadian health system trends, the contribution of Ronald McDonald Houses within this context, and the resulting business case for RMHC.
This work has involved tracking academic research related to the value of psychosocial support and family centred care, gaining the perspective of leading pediatric healthcare stakeholders and understanding first hand how the organization helps children and families at Ronald McDonald Houses and Ronald McDonald Family Rooms across the country.
This work established RMHC’s approach to Family Centred Care as uniquely valuable to families and to the Canadian healthcare system. The work was also endorsed by RMHC’s Board of Directors and the organization’s health science stakeholders at children’s hospitals across Canada, and increased revenue from corporate partners and donors.
According to RMHC, “This research was literally a seminal study for the organization, fundamentally changing our understanding of our role and value in the Canadian healthcare system and providing a foundation for inspiring all of our key stakeholders – from Ronald McDonald Houses, to families, hospitals, partners, donors and governments”.
